Party supplies retailer chain Party City has initiated a coast-to-coast campaign supporting the American Heart Association's Go Red for Women. Go Red for Women is an educational campaign to raise awareness of heart health for women. Cardiovascular disease is responsible for one in three deaths among American women. Through the month of February, Party City is accepting cash donations at the registers of more than 600 stores, with all proceeds going to Go Red for Women. "Women are at the heart of our business, and Party City customers include mothers, daughters, wives, sisters, brides and other women who plan special events throughout the year," says Lisa Laube, president of Party City. "By supporting Go Red for Women, we're able to encourage these women in a very important way." Party City's "Have a Heart" activity calendar also boosts awareness of heart healthy lifestyles with engaging weekly activities. The calendar encourages women to don red accessories for National Wear Red Day, volunteer for school Valentine's Day activities, and engage in a number of other female-oriented activities.
